Anyone who supposes that evolution doesnt happen, or doesnt matter, should spare a thought for H5N1... to H5N1 for most of the past decade. It is part of the natural order for viruses to mutate, and the H5N1 flu strain associated with the deadly form of avian flu is no exception. Indeed, random mutation... the dreaded human transmissible form of H5N1 could result from an even simpler method --- recombination..., the fact that H3 and H4 viruses are co-infecting birds that also have H5N1 creates new opportunities
