Novosti: New bird flu outbreak reported in western China

The Russian news agency Novosti says a Hong Kong paper has reported New bird flu outbreak in western China.

A fresh outbreak of bird flu has been registered in China's western Xinjiang-Uighur Autonomous region, a Hong Kong-based newspaper reported Tuesday.

According to Ta Kung Pao, the outbreak was registered November 11, when about 1,400 chickens died in two areas not far from Urumchi, the capital of the province, which has a population of about 19 million people and borders on Russia, and other countries.
